Student Service & Internship Opportunities

The Fairfield Community Food Bank welcomes high school and college students who want to serve the community, gain hands-on experience, and make a difference in Fairfield County.

Whether you are interested in marketing, event support, nonprofit work, or direct community service, we offer meaningful opportunities for students to learn while helping neighbors facing food insecurity.

Ways Students Can Serve

Marketing & Communications

Students can help support the food bank by creating content, taking photos, helping with social media updates, designing flyers, writing short stories about community impact, and promoting upcoming programs or events.

Events &
Program Support

Students can assist with food drives, community events, fundraisers, special programs, and outreach activities. This may include helping with event setup, registration, organizing materials, greeting guests, and supporting board or volunteer-led initiatives.

Pantry Service Days

Students can volunteer during food distribution days by helping prepare food boxes, organize donated items, greet community members, assist with check-in, load vehicles, and support the daily needs of the pantry.

Who Can Apply

We welcome high school and college students who are dependable, respectful, and willing to serve with compassion. Students may volunteer for service hours, internship credit, community service requirements, or personal experience.

Some opportunities may require a set schedule, parent/guardian permission for minors, or approval from a school or college program.

What Students Gain

Students will have the opportunity to build real-world skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, nonprofit service, event planning, and community outreach.

Most importantly, students will help support families, seniors, veterans, and individuals throughout Fairfield County.
